Amazon in tie-up with Barclays for delivery collection points

New Barclaycard research revealed that consumer appetite for Click & Collect services has grown. A third of retailers who offer Click & Collect have seen in-store sales increase as 68 per cent of shoppers are now choosing to pick up online orders in-store.
Barclaycard's research showed that six in ten consumers want retailers to partner so they can collect orders in more locations.

Amazon has partnered with Barclays to use its outlets as collection points for deliveries.

The bank has been trialing delivery lockers across sites in London. If the initiative proves successful, it could be rolled out across the Barclays network.

Amazon already delivers to hundreds of click and collect sites around the UK, allowing customers to pick up orders from Post Offices, newsagents and train stations. The Barclays plan could open up 1,500 more.

According to The Mail on Sunday the bank declined to comment on the plans, but Amazon‘s website makes clear that some Barclays branches are being used as click and collect sites.
