John Lewis Partnership has reportedly announced that the John Lewis fashion buying director Christine Kasoulis is set to step down from her role this spring after 32 years with the business.

Kasoulis is resigning from the business to focus on her MBA.

She first joined John Lewis in 2007 as head of buying home, before being promoted to brand director in 2009.

In 2013, she was appointed as buying director of home, and was promoted fashion buying director in 2017, replacing Ed Connolly – who moved into the new role of interim trading director.

Kasoulis was responsible for bringing more than 50 new fashion, beauty and accessory third-party brands to John Lewis’ online and in-store line-up for autumn/winter 2021.

John Lewis Partnership said that Kasoulis played a “crucial role” in developing its fashion, nursery and beauty offering, Drapers reported.

Meanwhile, John Lewis customer experience director Peter Cross is stepping down from the business at the end of April.

He joined John Lewis as communications director in 2013, before becoming customer experience director for John Lewis and Waitrose in 2017.

  3. Yet another experienced retailer leaving the Partnership. Clearly the senior management are not comfortable working with anyone who has actual experience of running a retail store.
