Sainsbury’s customers are unhappy with its new vacuum-sealed meat packaging that reportedly ‘destroys’ the product when opened.

The supermarket chain updated its mincemeat packaging in an industry-leading move to cut plastic and hit net-zero targets, but some vocal customers now feel the new wrapping is having an impact on the taste and texture of the meat.

  1. I tried the mince in this new packaging even though it looked less than appealing. I found the mince to be reduced to mush. The texture was dreadful. I now buy my 5% mince elsewhere. I think far from reducing plastic ( which is recyclable), its about cheaper transport ( as it takes up less space) and increase shelf life

  2. I bought this mince and it was absolutely horrible turned to powder and didn’t look like real meat.Will not buy from Sainsbury’s again.
