// The discount grocer is targeting over 1,100 outlets across the UK
Lidl has published its shortlist of priority locations for new stores as it targets over 1,100 outlets across the UK.
The discount grocer said the list represented potential sites in which only a small number would be developed into new branches.
Lidl has opened 15 new stores in the last three months and expects to open 10 more later this year.

The supermarket giant is also expanding its distribution facilities with its largest ever warehouse opening in Luton in August.
Lidl GB chief development officer Richard Taylor said: “Our store expansion has been and continues to be unparalleled.
“In the last three months alone, we’ve opened 15 new stores – more than any other retailer, and in 2022 we welcomed customers through the doors of over 50 new stores.”
Taylor added that the discount retailer “won’t be stopping there” and that there is “no ceiling on our ambition or growth potential”.
